Drivers can expect traffic this afternoon and evening on E. Independence Boulevard.
The two inbound lanes of E. Independence Blvd near the 6900 block and the intersection with W.T. Harris Boulevard will be closed until about 8 p.m.
The lane closures are for a water service repair, said Karen Whichard of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department.
