The Rev. Billy Graham expressed support Thursday for embattled Chick-fil-A, saying he intends to join those who plan to buy a sandwich from the chain next Wednesday.
The restaurant remains in the middle of a national controversy after company president Dan Cathy called himself a supporter of Biblical marriage and dismissed same-sex unions. Criticism continues to stream in.
Now the wave of support for Cathy is building. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has called for a nationwide show of support for the restaurant on Wednesday.
Franklin Graham has climbed on board. Now his father has joined him.
“Each generation faces different issues and challenges, but our standard must always be measured by God's word,” the elder Graham said in a prepared statement. “I appreciate the Cathy family's public support for God's definition of marriage.” Michael Gordon
