Mayfield to host District 3 town hall meeting

Charlotte City Council District 3 rep LaWana Mayfield is holding a town hall meeting this weekend.

The event is set for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Steele Creek AME Zion Church, which is located at 1500 Shopton Rd.

Mayfield represents District 3 on the city council, which runs from Tuckaseegee Road to Steele Creek and the South Carolina line.

The town hall is expected to touch on a number of topics, including an update on the city’s Capital Investment Plan, transportation, planning, zoning, housing, fire prevention and neighborhood matching grants, according to a news release from the city. State and city staff are expected to appear.
