So this week, I wanted to forget the weight-loss, and talk about my fiancé :)

We’ve been talking about ourselves so much these past few weeks that I wanted to take some time to tell you guys about my future husband, Jeffrey, and how lucky I am to be marrying him.

Jeffrey and I met in elementary school and let me tell ya… I hated his guts. I can remember coming home (more than once!) crying because he wouldn’t let me play football or had picked on me that day. Granted, as a 9-year-old girl, it can be a little hard to grasp the whole “he’s picking on you because he likes you” concept. We battled each other for class president (*cough* cough* I was the victor) and for the best grades before different middle schools then different high schools separated us. Our moms remained in touch though, working with Mary Kay together, and Jeff said he’d get updates still here and there from his mom on how I was doing.

Before I knew it, we were all grown up. I was going to school in Florida, while he was all the way in Mississippi. We hadn’t spoken since elementary school until I ran into his mom. It was the week of Miss Florida, and I was stressed to the max. My mom and I were at Office Depot printing out signs for them to hold in the crowd when my mom nudged me and said, “That’s Mrs. Stanley, isn’t it?” We argued back and forth for a few minutes before my mom went up to her. Sure enough, it was. They chatted for a bit while I ran around the store getting last-minute stuff. Before we left, his mom showed me a picture of the much more adult Jeffrey and told me to find him on Facebook. At the moment, finding the boy who made me cry multiple times in middle school was the last thing on my mind.

A few months after the pageant and into my senior year of college, I was doing a little Facebooking when I remembered what Jeff’s mom said. It took some stalking before I finally found and friended him. A few weeks later, he finally accepted. It took a few more weeks before I got my first smart-you-know-what comment from him on one of my pictures. From there, we started chatting and then text messaging. Finally, December rolled around and we both headed to south Florida; me to see my friends, him to see his family.

The night we “re-met” was… interesting. Jeffrey, in order to “calm his nerves," decided to get absolutely demolished with his best friend, Cory, before I met him at a local bar with some girlfriends. He was a drunken fool, but adorable nonetheless. We laugh and talked for hours before he drunkenly forgot to say goodbye. I remember getting in the car and looking at my best friend, Bre, and saying, “Um, what the heck?”

Want to know what happened next? Tune in next week for the rest of our love story!

Happy Monday!

World peace and skinny jeans,

Sheri xo
