Get there hassle-free by bus, train or trolley

The Charlotte Area Transit System is planning adjusted bus routes during the Democratic National Convention based on the temporary change in location of the uptown transit center, a CATS official said Thursday.

Olaf Kinard, marketing manager for CATS, said the agency will announce the changes in routes, as well as whether there will be expanded routes or hours for buses and trains during the convention, sometime in the next two weeks. CATS announced in May that the uptown transit center would be moved to Third and South Mint streets from Sept. 3 to 5.

Within Charlotte, the Lynx Blue Line provides commuter train service along one line, running from Interstate 485 in south Charlotte to uptown Charlotte. Current price: $2.00. MAP

The Gold Rush is a free service and a great way to connect to Center City Charlotte and the LYNX Blue Line. MAP
