West Charlotte man tricked, robbed

Police are looking for three men who they say were involved in an armed robbery at a house in west Charlotte overnight.

It happened about 12:30 a.m. at a house on Avalon Avenue, near Glenwood Drive and Tuckaseegee Road. No serious injuries were reported.

Police say the suspects used a ruse in order to pull off the robbery. They knocked at the door, and one of the suspects told the occupant that he was a probation officer.

The three attackers then forced three adult occupants outside the house and robbed them, police say. During the assault, according to police, one of the occupants was struck by the suspects.

The men then ran off. Police have not released a description of the suspects.
