WAXHAW -- About 100 firefighters in western Union County will get refillable coffee cups Wednesday morning, thanks to a Waxhaw resident who won a contest sponsored by Kangaroo Express.
Angie St. Gelasis is among the winners in the “What Would You Do With 100 Roo Cups” promotion, in which people come up with ideas on how to distribute the cups. Kangaroo Express, a Southeastern-based chain of convenience stores, allows customers to refill the cups with coffee or soft drinks for only 25 cents.
St. Gelasis plans to distribute the cups to crews at the Providence and Wesley Chapel volunteer fire departments. Joining her for the giveaways Wednesday morning will be Waxhaw Mayor Daune Gardner and Kangaroo Express officials.
