Sheriff: Officers find 37 marijuana plants at Rowan home

A man faces drug charges after authorities said they discovered nearly 40 marijuana plants this week at a Rowan County home.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said its investigators executed a search warrant Wednesday at Jeffrey Hamilton Kincaid’s home on Saw Road in China Grove.

Inside, officers found 35 marijuana plants in two “concealed marijuana growing rooms,” as well as dried marijuana, authorities said. They found two more plants growing outside.

The seized marijuana had a street value of $21,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Kincaid turned himself in to deputies Friday. He was charged with several drug-related offenses, including possession of marijuana and manufacturing marijuana.
