CMPD seeks suspect who cut off monitor

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for a 17-year-old suspect who cut off his electronic monitor early Wednesday.

Ahndray Edward Clay was last seen Wednesday morning near the intersection of Glenwood Drive and Interstate 85, and police said he is known to frequent nearby hotels.

Clay was arrested in May on charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and interfering with an electronic monitoring device. He was placed on an electronic monitoring device on July 12

Anyone with information on Clay’s whereabouts should call 911 or contact the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at (704)336-VACT.
