Mallard Head Country Club, a treasure tucked away off of Mooresvilles Brawley School Rd., was home to the 18th Annual John P. Campbell Memorial Golf Tournament June 20th. All proceeds from the tournament benefit Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County. Over the years the annual tournaments have raised over $480,000 to benefit patient care.
John Pierce Campbell, the founder of Mallard Head Golf Course, became a supporter of Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County in the early 1990s after witnessing the care his brothers received from the organization. Although he passed away in 2006, his legacy lives on through the Campbell family and their dedication to the cause. Four generations of Campbells, including Johns wife, Sara Edwards Campbell, attended the event, many of them as volunteers.
