More than 100 girls in the seventh through 12th grades gathered recently at Ridge Road Middle School to celebrate a new school year and the promise of all they can accomplish personally and professionally.
School officials and Charlotte-based Taking Initiative Moving Efficiently– with the help of more than 50 professional women – hosted the second annual Back to School YOUthEmpowHERment Summit. The July 28 gathering featured activities meant to build confidence, personal strength and sisterhood.
The girls participated in panel discussions, developed possible solutions for growth issues, wrote personal vision statements, took advantage of fitness instruction and learned about meeting financial challenges.
