Forest to speak to GOP women

Republican Dan Forest, the party’s nominee for lieutenant governor, will speak to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Republican Women’s Club on Aug. 22.

He’ll speak to the group’s noon luncheon at Maggiano’s restaurant at SouthPark Mall. Cost is $26 for members and $31 for non-members.

Forest, the son of U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick, graduated from UNC Charlotte. He’s running against Democrat Linda Coleman. Jim Morrill
