A police team that tracks violent criminals was searching Sunday for a Charlotte man who officers say sliced through his electronic monitoring bracelet.

Keith Allen Murray, 51, was out of jail on bond after he was charged with breaking and entering and larceny. Police say he is now also charged with interfering with an electronic monitoring device.

Murray is 5-foot-11, 190 pounds, with a white hair and a white beard. He was last seen near North Tryon Street and Tom Hunter Road, where officers say he cut off his monitor.

Murray is the 22nd person monitored by CMPD to cut off his electronic monitor this year. At this point last year, 17 offenders had cut off the devices.
