Your morning traffic roundup

After a rather difficult morning, motorists are finding it a bit easier to navigate Charlotte-area streets at 9:15 a.m. this Monday morning.

Congestion and collisions caused a number of delays earlier this morning, but only one problem remains -- on southbound Interstate 85 in Cabarrus County.

An earlier one-vehicle incident on the inner loop of the John Belk Freeway has been cleared. Traffic is still a bit slow in the area, near the 3rd Street interchange, but conditions are improving.

The I-85 problem is near mile marker 55, near the N.C. 73 exit. The N.C. Department of Transportation reports a disabled vehicle in the right lane, and it is causing traffic problems. That is added to the daily headache of congestion in the area, near the construction zone.

Motorists can expect delays until at least 9:30 a.m.
