This weekend is the Pride Charlotte Festival – the annual festival that is the LGBT Community Center of Charlotte’s largest fundraiser each year – and with it comes lots of parties.

Events are happening all weekend, running the gamut from a basketball tournament Friday at Covenant Presbyterian Church to a performance by Leslie Jordan Monday at Petra’s (see www.pridecharlotte.com/events for a full list).

But a featured Pride Charlotte event worth checking out is Hartigan’s Drag Diner & Drag Show, featuring Buff Faye and Roxy C. Moorecox. Chances are, this party won’t be a drag. 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday. 601 S. Cedar St. $5. 704-347-1841.

New spots for beer lovers

Triple C Brewing Company (2900 Griffith St.) is opening its doors for the first time on Saturday, from 2-9 p.m., to debut its home-brewed beers. Triple C’s signature beer is the “Light Rail Pale Ale” – apropos, since they’re located right near the New Bern light rail stop. No cover. 704-372-3212.

The dog days of summer are over, but the dog nights have just begun at Lucky Dog Bark and Brew (19607 Statesville Road, Cornelius), a new Lake Norman-area dog bar. It has a bar full of alcohol, as well as an espresso bar for those who opt for caffeine as their vice. The dog (and human) play area is open until midnight. $10 annual fee per dog. 704-896-5550.

Meanwhile, an uptown spot is celebrating getting older: Blackfinn American Salon (210 E. Trade St.) turns four this weekend, and is having an anniversary celebration Friday. To thank its customers, Blackfinn is giving away four tickets to every sporting event Charlotte has to offer, from Carolina Panthers tickets to passes for the Wells Fargo Championship golf tournament. 8 p.m.-2 a.m. 704-971-4440.

Get your ‘True Blood’ here

Uzbekistani actress/model Natasha Alam, who played an exotic dancer at Fangtasia during the third season of “True Blood,” is coming to Mez (210 E. Trade St.) on Saturday. Dress like a vampire, but please, no biting. 10 p.m.-2 a.m. $10. 704-971-2400.
