The state Highway Patrol is trying to track down a vehicle that struck and killed a 20-year-old graduate of Lake Norman High School.
The (Greenville) Daily Reflector reports Austin Alexander Baeza was struck Saturday morning along N.C. 33 West near North Memorial Drive in Pitt County.
Baeza is originally from Mooresville and was a 2010 graduate of Lake Norman High where he played football, according to his obituary. He attended West Virginia University for two years, and an aunt told the Greensville newspaper that Baeza had recently enrolled in Pitt Community College.
The Daily Reflector says state troopers are looking for a gray, older model Chrysler vehicle that may have been involved in the hit-and-run.
