SHELBY -- A Cleveland County soldier killed in action earlier this month is returning home Monday.
The body of Army Spc. James Justice, 21, is to arrive about 9:15 a.m. at the Shelby-Cleveland County Regional Airport, for a procession through parts of Cleveland and Gaston counties.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday and the funeral Wednesday in Kings Mountain.
Monday’s procession will begin at the airport and follow N.C. 150 up to Cherryville, where Justice’s father lives. The procession route then will follow N.C. 274 and N.C. 216 southward to Kings Mountain, where Justice’s mother lived before moving to Columbia. The Patriot Guard Riders motorcycle group will lead the procession.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at New Beginnings Church of Jesus Christ, 541 Crocker Road, Kings Mountain. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at New Beginnings Church.
Justice was shot by insurgents Aug. 14 in Afghanistan and died of his injuries two days later at an Army hospital in Germany.
