Too little attitude on U.S. Ryder Cup team?

Just thinking:

Is it just me or does America’s Ryder Cup team seem one or two Azingers or Wadkins or Floyds short? Guys with attitudes. Men who remind you of fighters climbing into a ring. Adding Steve Stricker and Hunter Mahan will help. What might also help would be Tiger Woods taking a vocal leadership role. Can’t see him doing it, though.

Augusta National Golf Club admitted two women into membership and at last report hell had not frozen over.

Sergio Garcia has had several good rounds lately and from all reports is not blaming everybody and everything but himself when he misses a putt or hooks a drive. Good to see. The woe is me attitude wore thin a long time ago.

“The ball I threw while playing in the park has not yet reached the ground.” Dylan Thomas wrote that. Wish I had.

Webb Simpson nailed it when he asked why golf’s ruling bodies are talking about how long putters give users an advantage but they’re not talking about the advantages being given by hybrid clubs, bomber drivers or those rocket golf balls.

The question I am asked most, other than what’s that you’ve got stuck in your teeth, is will Tiger pass Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major championships. Without hesitation, my answer is: It must be some of the spinach I had for lunch.

Need a fourth? How about David Feherty? Or Fred Couples?

I’m trying but I can’t get fired up about the FedEx Cup playoffs yet Maybe I need vitamins.

I say, old chap, why are so many of golf’s television commentators gentlemen with accents from across the sea? Do they talk gooder than us? Actually, I like them, especially Feherty, Nick Faldo and Peter Oosterhuis.

Anybody seen my golf game? I seem to have misplaced it.
