CHARLOTTE, N.C. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Departments uptown headquarters will be closed to the public during the Democratic National Convention.
The building, located on East Trade Street, will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday until 3 p.m. Sept. 7.
Police said anyone who needs to get a police report during that period should go to a CMPD division office during normal business hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m. To find division offices across the city, visit www.cmpd.org.
Reports will also be available at the departments West Service Center at 4150 Wilkinson Blvd.
CMPDs Property Control will temporarily move to the West Service Center. Police encourage anyone who wants to pick up property to call ahead at 704-398-6700, allowing police staff to retrieve the property before the person arrives.
