Mary J. Blige joins DNC entertainment

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Three more Grammy-winning musical acts have been added to the Bank of America Stadium event Thursday at the Democratic National Convention, joining North Carolina native James Taylor.

Convention officials announced that Mary J. Blige, the Foo Fighters and Earth Wind and Fire also will perform at the event, which will be highlighted Thursday night by President Obama’s acceptance speech.

Marc Antony will sing the national anthem, DNC officials say.

All tickets for the program have been distributed.

Mary J. Blige has won nine Grammy awards and has eight platinum albums. The Foo Fighters, founded by ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, have 11 Grammies, including four Best Album awards. Earth, Wind and Fire dates back to the late 1960s and has won 20 Grammy awards.

The full list of performers:

Tuesday: Amber Riley (national anthem), D.J. Cassidy, Ledisi.

Wednesday: Branford Marsalis (national anthem), D.J. Cassidy, Jessica Sanchez.

Thursday: Marc Antony (national anthem), Foo Fighters, Mary J. Blige, Earth, Wind and Fire, James Taylor, Delta Rae, Inspire the Fire.
