CHARLOTTE, N.C. The Democratic National Convention host committee has announced the stage schedules for Monday’s CarolinaFest in uptown Charlotte.
The free Labor Day event will kick-off the convention, which opens Tuesday, with family activities, live music and speakers.
Events on the Main Stage, at Trade and Tryon streets: noon, opening ceremonies parade with the Johnson C. Smith University marching band; 12:05 p.m., the national anthem sung by Anthony Hamilton; 12:20-1 p.m., Janelle Monáe; 2:05-2:40 p.m., Simplified; 3:40-4:25 p.m., Jeff Bridges; 5:15-6:15 p.m., James Taylor.
On the Carolina Stage, at Tryon Street and Levine Avenue of the Arts: 1:05-1:50 p.m., Blue Dogs; 2:45-3 p.m., Radio Disney; 3-3:30 p.m., West End Mambo; 4:30-5:05 p.m., Chairman of the Board. Bruce Henderson
