Labor Day: What's open, what's closed

Here’s how the following institutions will observe the Labor Day holiday Monday:

Federal Offices: Closed

N.C., S.C. state offices: Closed

Charlotte city offices: Closed

Mecklenburg County offices: Closed

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools: Closed

Buses, light rail: Open, all busses will operate on the Sunday schedule, with no express busses. Lynx blue line will operate according to its Saturday schedule.

Charlotte Mecklenburg libraries: All branches will be closed

Compost Central: Open 7 a.m.-4 p.m.

Garbage pickup: Normal schedule

Banks: Closed

Mecklenburg ABC stores: Closed

S.C. ABC stores: Open

FedEx: Closed (FedEx Custom Critical available and some FedEx Office locations will offer modified hours)

UPS: Closed (UPS Express Critical available)

U.S. Postal Service: Closed
