Eighth annual Gospel Shout concert is set for Sept. 11

Now in its eighth year, Gospel Shout 2012 is a free, all-ages concert showcasing local gospel and shout bands, hosted by the Levine Museum of the New South and co-sponsor Center City Partners.

The religious “roots music” concert celebrates United House of Prayer’s tradition of trombone and shout-band music, as well as a capella singing.

A $10 dinner will be offered in the church cafeteria at 6 p.m., and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, at United House of Prayer for All People, 2321 Beatties Ford Road.
