2 women cited in uptown bar fight

Two women were cited following a bar fight early Monday on East 7th Street in uptown Charlotte.

The fight was reported around 2:45 a.m. outside 200 East 7th Street, which is the address for the Levine Museum of the New South. There are several bars nearby.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said two women were involved in the altercation. One was taken to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries, and both were issued public affray citations, police said.

Their names were not immediately available.

Earlier in the evening, a disturbance was reported at Club Caviar on East Stonewall Street, not far from the Westin Charlotte hotel and the Charlotte Convention Center. Officers said the fight was soon broken up, according to police radio traffic.
