Rowan County authorities said a man was found shot in the leg Monday evening at a park.
Officers were called around 7:50 p.m. to an area known as Cooleemee Park on Erwin Temple Church Road in northern Rowan County. There, officers found the injured man.
He’d been shot in the lower leg, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Paramedics took the man to Rowan Regional Medical Center. His injuries were described as not life threatening.
Authorities have not yet released details about the shooting or said whether they’re searching for a suspect. The Sheriff’s Office said investigators were talking to people who were at the scene at the time of the shooting.
