Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools principals leaving

The principals of Martin Middle School and Oakdale Elementary have resigned effective this month, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials said Wednesday.

Ayinde Rudolph, who has been principal of Martin since 2009, will be associate director of school transformation for Buffalo Promise Neighborhood. The organization is working to provide “cradle to college” support for children and families in Buffalo, N.Y.

Johnny Ferrara, who has been principal at Oakdale since 2009, will return to Charleston, W.Va., where he worked before that, spokeswoman LaTarzja Henry said.

The resignations come during the second week of school. In 2011-12, CMS lost as many principals as in the previous two school years combined.
