A 27-year-old man died when he fell from a balcony at a Myrtle Beach hotel Friday night.

Lowell Jordan Timms, of Myrtle Beach, was at the Palms North hotel at 2500 North Ocean Boulevard last night when he fell from a first floor balcony, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

Willard said the balcony was about 20 feet above the ground even though it was a first floor room. Timms died from a massive head trauma, she said and no autopsy is planned.

Myrtle Beach police responded at about 10:30 p.m. where rescue workers were already performing CPR on Timms who fell on the pool deck, according to an incident report.

Timms was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he died at 11:01 p.m., Willard said.
