MOORESVILLE The occupant of a home in the 700 block of Park Avenue was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Burn Center in Winston-Salem on Monday with life-threatening burns suffered in a cooking-related fire, Mooresville Fire & Rescue officials said.
The fire happened shortly before 2 p.m. and caused about $1,000 in damage to the home, which fire officials said had no working smoke detectors.
No further details were immediately available.
