Woman’s car hits CMPD cruiser

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a woman faces charges after her vehicle slammed into the rear of a parked CMPD cruiser early Wednesday in northeast Charlotte.

Police say it happened on Eastway Drive near The Plaza. No injuries were reported.

According to police, a CMPD officers had stopped at the scene to help an apparently intoxicated man who was in the street. Moments later, the woman’s vehicle hit the back of the police cruiser, then veered into a utility pole.

Police have not said what charges they plan to bring against the woman.
