A 72-year-old man could spend up to 18 years in prison after a young girl said she was sexually abused on her birthday.
The Shelby Star reports Harold Thomas Shytle pleaded guilty earlier this week to first-degree sex offense with a child.
Authorities say the victim in the case was a seven-year-old girl, who reported the abuse to her mother, the Star reported.
Shytle was first arrested in late June. He was being held early Wednesday in the Cleveland County jail.
