Authorities are searching for the armed man who robbed a Harrisburg convenience store this week.

The man, who showed a handgun, entered the Carolina Fast Mart BP on N.C. 49 around 10 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office. The suspect demanded that the store's clerk open the register, and then he fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.

On Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office released surveillance video showing the suspect jumping over the counter and pulling cash out of the register.

Authorities said the suspect is a black man who wore all black clothing, a Pittsburg Pirates fitted ball cap and something dark covering his face.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-93-CRIME. Tipsters, who can remain anonymous, may qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
