Toddler’s drowning ruled accidental

Observer staff reports

A 13-month-old’s drowning in eastern Rowan County this week has been ruled accidental, reports the Salisbury Post.

Parker James Lee Munn of Salisbury died Tuesday after apparently falling into an ornamental fountain in a yard on Rockwood Drive near Faith.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said someone called authorities for help Tuesday afternoon, reporting that Parker was missing. He was soon discovered in a fountain at a neighbor’s home, authorities said.

Parker died despite efforts to revive him.

The Salisbury Post reports that investigators do not expect to file charges in the case.

Parker was the son of Jessica Jewl Kepley and Nicholas James Munn, according to his obituary.

Parker’s family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord 6-8 p.m. Friday, and his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
