A wreck on Interstate 85 north near Charlotte’s University City area has clogged traffic during Thursday’s evening commute.
The crash, which happened around 5:30 p.m., shut down northbound lanes at W.T. Harris Boulevard. Traffic was backed up for miles.
As of 6 p.m., one lane was moving in the area. Charlotte firefighters advised drivers to avoid the area.
Paramedics said two people who suffered injuries described as life threatening were taken to Carolinas Medical Center.
