“Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said ‘Here am I. Send me.’ ” –Isaiah 6:8

I’ll do it. Send me.

I’ve read this passage numerous times, and it never ceases to fill me with wonder. A tremendous challenge was at hand and yet Isaiah did not hesitate to answer the call; he raised his voice and declared “I’ll go”.

I’m certainly no Old Testament prophet; still, in a sense, I too have said “Let me.” I firmly believe the path I walk, the mission that drives me onward each day to be God-given and God-driven. Only He could have taken our improbable dream so far beyond what we imagined possible…

As I’ve written previously (please see August 17th post), this Saturday, September 15th, I am participating in the local celebration of the national event sponsored by State Farm, “Celebrate My Drive”.

The thought of being surrounded by and serving with like-minded people here in our community and across our great nation, knowing that each of us have the same ultimate goal-saving lives of teens-moves me in such a way that I’m unable to express it quite yet…

On the very afternoon we lost Brian, I remember saying the best way to honor his life would be to live ours to the fullest, being fearless and seizing every opportunity, just as he did.

So keeping those thoughts in mind and in spite of my ever-increasing nervousness, come Saturday I will celebrate Brian’s life by sharing his story with all who care to listen, praying it will make a small difference in the lives of all of the teens and parents in attendance.

I sure hope to see you there…

Please join me on September 15th from 9-3 p.m. @ NW Cabarrus HS in Concord for State Farm’s ‘Celebrate My Drive’ event.

Wishing you many blessings, sunshine and hope…tg
