Big Shot Saturdays in Charlotte

The Junior League of Charlotte will sponsor Big Shot Saturday programs the next three Saturdays in Charlotte, providing children a chance to receive free immunizations.

The first 100 children who arrive at the sites will receive immunizations. Those will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, with school-age children having priority. The events are part of the Junior League’s Healthy Child Initiative, and Spanish interpreters will be available.

Parents and/or guardians must bring children’s official immunization records and at least one form of identification.

The schedule:

Saturday: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Mecklenburg County Health Department, 249 Billingsley Road.

Sept. 22: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Berry Academy, 1430 Alleghany Road.

Sept. 29: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Mecklenburg County Health Department.

At the Sept. 22 program, health professionals also will provide free vision, hearing and dental screening.
