Epicurean weekend at Euphoria
Music, food and drink are celebrated Sept. 20-23 in Greenville, S.C., at the Euphoria celebration. At its Taste of the South, Sept. 21 at the Peace Center Amphitheater, singer-songwriter Edwin McCain is among those taking the stage while 13 top Upstate restaurants offer food sampling; theres also beer and wines under the pavilion ($125). Sept. 22 is a daylong wine, beer and gourmet food under-a-tent Tasting Showcase ($75). Sept. 23 has a jazz brunch with more than 20 area restaurants ($45; $100 per family) and Sunday Supper (live-action cooking stage with food, bluegrass, bourbon and beer; $150).

Family Folklife Festival
The Atlanta History Centers Fall Folklife Festival starts Sept. 21 with an evening foodie event at the centers Smith Family Farm. Top area chefs will discuss Atlanta cuisine, restaurants will offer samples; theres also live music. Cost: $75 (includes food/beverage). Sept. 22, 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the same site, the festival will have more food events, demonstrations of historic crafts and cooking styles, a petting zoo and live traditional music. SEPT. 27-30 Mount Airy
Mount Airy Andy Griffiths home town holds its Mayberry Days Festival Sept. 27-30. Special events will honor the memory of Andy Griffith Show stars who died in the last year: Andy Griffith, George Lindsey and Doug Dillard. There will be a Doug Dillard Tribute concert at the Andy Griffith Playhouse on Sept. 28; the parade Sept. 29 with Betty Lynn (the shows Thelma Lou) as grand marshal and a musical Hometown Tribute to Andy Griffith at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 30. Barbecue and bluegrass
The Smokin BBQ and Bluegrass Festival will be staged at Cantons Cold Mountain Corn Maize on Sept. 29, starting at 10 a.m. Activities include the maze, bluegrass, clogging, barbecue and a cue competition. Admission: $10. Details: www.visitncsmokies.com.

Try Taste of Charleston
Fifty Lowcountry chefs and restaurants will offer sample portions of their specialties at the Southern Living Taste of Charleston event Sept. 30 at Boone Hall Plantation. Other events include an Iron Chef competition at the Culinary Institute of Charleston (6-9 p.m. Sept. 28; $50 and $100); and a Sept. 28-29 Charleston Dine Around, with participating restaurants offering three-course menus paired with a specialty/craft beer.
