2 men rob Gastonia credit union

Gastonia police are looking for two men who robbed a credit union Friday morning.

No injuries were reported in the robbery, which happened about 10 a.m. at the Carolina Cooperative Federal Credit Union. That is in the 1400 block of East Franklin Boulevard, about a quarter-mile west of New Hope Road.

Police say the two men walked into the credit union, pretending to be customers. Then one man produced a gun and forced a clerk to open the safe. The men ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Gastonia police launched a manhunt but were not able to find the men.

Police are studying surveillance video and have not provided a detailed description of the men.
