OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- The FBI said Friday that the so-called “Bucket List Bandit,” wanted in connection with bank robberies in North Carolina and several other states, has been arrested in Oklahoma.
Michael Eugene Brewster, 54, of Pensacola, Fla., was taken into custody by police in Roland, Okla. It happened during a routine traffic stop, according to police. The FBI says Brewster was driving a vehicle reported stolen in Florida.
The robber got his nickname because he often told bank tellers during robberies that he has only months to live. Federal investigators say he is suspected of robbing a bank in Winston-Salem, and other banks in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Utah.
The “Bucket List Bandit” was the subject of a nationwide search by the FBI and local law enforcement agencies.
