Two teenage girls were arrested Sunday when they began to fight at Carowinds while a crowd of onlookers gathered around them, officials say.
Sheriffs deputies and Carowinds security responded to several fights throughout the park while a mob of people began to walk through the park and into the parking lot around midnight, according to a York County Sheriffs report.
Deputies reached the parking lot and heard several people shouting, Fight. A deputy made his way through a crowd and found the 14- and 15-year-old girls hitting each other in the head, the report states.
Both girls continued to fight even as officers tried to pull them apart. Deputies were forced to take one girl to the ground and place her in handcuffs. The other girl was then arrested, with assistance from Charlotte Mecklenburg police officers.
The Department of Juvenile Justice was notified.
