MOORESVILLE Rising creeks flooded the town’s sewage lift station off Brawley School Road near Rolling Hills Road on Monday, causing 221,592 gallons of sewage to overflow and forcing Duke Energy to cut off power temporarily to the station due to hazardous conditions, Mooresville Public Utilities Director Barry McKinnon said.
The lift station is now back online, McKinnon said Tuesday morning.
Creeks rose when 3.7 inches of rain fell over two days, including 2.5 inches in an hour Monday night, McKinnon said.
The overflow was reported to the N.C. Division of Water Quality and had no impact on creeks, he said.
