Circle K robbed near uptown

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store near the north end of the uptown area early Thursday morning.

The robbery was reported about 2:15 a.m. at the Circle K, in the 700 block of North Graham Street. That is a short distance south of the Brookshire Freeway.

The clerk told police a man walked in, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The man then ran off. Police set up a corridor around the area and called in their K-9 dog search unit, but no arrests were made.

According to police, the man was described as a black male of medium height and build. He was wearing dark-colored jeans, a black jacket, and a mask or cloth covering his face. Anyone with information in the case can call Crime Stoppers, 704-334-1600.
