Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they are searching for a 19-year-old woman who has not been seen since Wednesday, when she was reportedly the victim of a serious assault.

Candice Griffin was last seen on Plaza Road Extension in northeast Charlotte. Police say they’ve learned that Griffin was assaulted on or around Wednesday.

Griffin’s family and friends have not heard from her, and they are “extremely concerned,” police say.

Police say Griffin is a black woman who is 5-foot-1 and 110 pounds.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
