A 19-year-old who went missing after being assaulted this week has been found.

On Saturday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said detectives had located Candice Griffin. The announcement came a day after police asked for the public’s help to find her.

Griffin had last been seen in northeast Charlotte on Wednesday, when she was reportedly the victim of a serious assault, police said. Her family and friends had not heard from her and were concerned.

Police said Saturday that detectives spoke with Griffin. The investigation into the assault – and her subsequent disappearance – is ongoing, police said.
