Statement from Carolinas HealthCare System

There is widespread recognition that the current trajectory of healthcare costs in America is unsustainable, and the causes are not unique -- not unique to Charlotte and not unique to any one area across the country. At Carolinas HealthCare System we are committed to identifying solutions and focusing on those aspects of the healthcare delivery system that we can control.

The pricing of our services, including the provision of chemotherapy, is comparable to healthcare providers across the country; and we continue to evolve our health system to provide the most efficient, highest quality care for all patients.

Today we are all vulnerable to the impact of government cutbacks, insurance benefit reductions, and the skyrocketing costs of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and new technologies. For our part, we remain vigilant in designing an integrated health system that improves value to our patients when they receive care at CHS, as we work diligently to redefine care delivery.
