Fall plant sale

UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens will host a plant sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at their 9090 Craver Road location. Experts will be on hand to answer questions and help select shrubs, perennials, wildflowers and cool-weather annuals, in addition to native plants and others. Cash and checks only, all proceeds support the operations of the greenhouse and gardens. Details: 704-687-0720.


Oct. 6

Garden walk

Witherspoon Rose Culture will host this free autumn garden walk from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at their 4401 Shopton Road location. Basic rose care demonstrations on deadheading, mulching and irrigating will take place throughout the garden, as well as the launch of their 2013 rose catalog. Details: www.witherspoonrose.com
