KINGS MOUNTAIN -- Police say they have charged a Winston-Salem man in connection with an armed robbery Thursday evening at a convenience store in Kings Mountain.
The robbery was reported shortly before 6:45 p.m. at the Kings Mountain Grocery, in the 100 block of West Gold Street. A clerk said a man armed with a handgun entered the store and demanded money, before running off.
A short time later, police said, they spotted a man fitting the description of the bandit. No injuries were reported.
Arrested in the case was Germinique Stephon Ross, 31. He was charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon; and one count each of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting and obstructing an officer, and second-degree kidnapping.
