Biden to visit Charlotte Tuesday

By Jim Morrill

Vice President Joe Biden returns to North Carolina Tuesday with events in Charlotte and Asheville.

In Charlotte, Biden will speak at the Fillmore at the N.C. Music Factory. Doors open at 9 a.m. That afternoon he’ll attend a rally at UNC Asheville. Doors for that event open at 1:30 p.m.

The visit will be Biden’s 6th of the year to the Tar Heel State. It comes on the heels of a new NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll that shows President Obama and Republican Mitt Romney neck and neck in North Carolina, with Obama enjoying a 48 percent to 46 percent edge.

Biden’s North Carolina events are open to the public but tickets are required.

They’re available at Obama campaign offices. In Charlotte, that’s at 301 East 9th Street, Suite 160 or 1560 West Blvd., Suite B.

Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pick-up locations are open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
