Concord police have identified the people involved in a Tuesday morning collision that killed a 74-year-old and sent two other people to the hospital.

The crash happened on Old Airport Road, near Setter Lane, just after 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Ray Henderson Ross died at the scene from his injuries. Casey Lynn Perkins and a 5-year-old child were transported to CMC-Northeast Medical Center. The child, who police did not identify, has been released. Perkins remained in the hospital late Tuesday with serious injuries.

According to police, Perkins was travelling west on Old Airport Road in a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado truck that collided with the 1999 Toyota Camry driven by Perkins, who was headed east.

The cause of the wreck remains under investigation. Police encourage anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Officer Larry Hubbard at 704-920-5026.
