A pedestrian was seriously hurt Tuesday evening when he was struck by a vehicle just north of uptown Charlotte.
The collision happened around 7:50 p.m. at the intersection of Statesville and Holland avenues. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the pedestrian crossed two lanes of traffic and reached the median but was struck as he tried to cross the remaining two lanes.
He was not using a crosswalk, police said. His injuries were described as serious but not life threatening.
The driver, who remained at the scene, is not facing charges, police said.
