An Iron Station man was sentenced Monday to more than 16 years in prison after pleading guilty last year in federal court to six child pornography charges.

Christopher Steven Johnson, 38, had been charged after federal agents raided his Lincoln County home off N.C. 73 in March 2011. Johnson entered a guilty plea in August 2011 to two counts of child pornography production; three counts of transporting child pornography; and one count of child pornography possession.

According to the federal indictment and information mentioned during court proceedings, prosecutors say Johnson used a minor to produce pornographic images. He also was accused of recording a minor without her knowledge several times.

Government prosecutors say Johnson used several accounts -- including “luvyounger74” and “yeahright9774” -- on a peer-to-peer network, in order to distribute pornography. Agents said they found more than 4,200 images and 126 videos of child pornography in Johnson’s possession.

At the time of his arrest, prosecutors said some of the images had sadistic and masochistic poses. Investigators at the time said Johnson had worked at a Charlotte electronics firm.
